Home sweet home
We are back from our tropical vacay and it was wonderful! We went on a cruise to the Caribbean, just me and Brent, no cares, no responsibilities, no fishy crackers in my purse. The recap of our trip is as follows:
I Finally finished this book:
Just in time for the movie (which I saw last night and it was just aiight.) I am over the whole thing I think.
I gained plenty of these:
I gained plenty of these:
We stopped in Roatan, Honduras, which was a little...um...not really my kind of place. Belize, which was just okay. Cozumel, which was beautiful and I would love to go back there someday and Great Stirrup Cay, where I got hundreds of sand flea bites, which made for a miserable plane ride home!
Here I am in Honduras, drinking this delicious Banana Rama special! This was best part about Honduras!
Here is Brent, scared, as he sails through the air. We went zip lining in Belize (as well as cave tubing). To be honest I was very disappointed with these zip lines. I have been before, on longer and higher ones. If you are going to go on zip lines you have to do it right, the higher, the longer, the better!
Cave tubing, however, was very cool! You sit on tubes and follow the river through caves that are connected and dark and they open up into these huge caves and it is really quite cool.
Here is Brent at Tulum (Mayan Ruins), in Cozumel. This was a standard walkway that Brent is hunched over in, I even had to duck a great deal to go through any walkways, these people sure were short.
Aren't we cute!? This is the amazing beach next to Tulum, you can see how blue the water is, and the sand was clean and white. We swam in it and it was wonderful, possibly my favorite part of the trip (besides my 3 daily servings of ice cream). You might think we were honeymooners given the kissing picture. The truth is we asked this cute old couple who only spoke Spanish to take our picture. The lady kept yelling at Brent, in Spanish, to kiss me on the lips. We obliged and they snapped this masterpiece.
Us at dinner, of course. We didn't do much else but eat. If you look real close you can see in my eyes just how full I am.
It really was so nice to get away. I had been planning this trip for 1.5 years and it finally happened. I didn't even miss my kids until the last day, at which point my desire to see them became almost unbearable! It was totally worth all the planning and time away from my kids. Imagine going on a date every night ... my only worry was what to eat and if my pants would actually fit the next day. I love vacations and I am excited to take our kids on our next one!

Happy Birthday Little Maggie
This was me, last year on November 3rd...Puffy, HUGE, very pregnant, and 3 days past my due date of giving birth to my second child. So I did what any desperate woman in my situation would do...I went to the zoo and walked A LOT!!! In hopes of forcing this little one from my tummy. Well it worked and the next morning my water broke and this little angel was born.
Maggie Sue Bird: November 4th, 2007.
Today she is 1!
Oh how I love her! I love her little scream when she doesn't get what she wants. I love her LONG eyelashes. I love how she opens her mouth when I want a kiss, slobbering me. I love how her and Grace play so well together. I love how she throws her food off her high chair to signify she is done (okay I really hate that, but it is sort of cute). I love how she takes her socks and shoes off her feet EVERY time we get in the car. I love how she waves backwards and says bababa (bye bye bye). I love how she knocks over blocks and laughs really hard.
Having a second little babe has changed my view of motherhood and I LOVE having two kids. I love that I get to watch these little ones grow, there is nothing more rewarding!
What would a 1st Birthday be without chocolate cake ALL OVER YOUR FACE!?
